Kartrite Resort and Indoor Water Park

Have you been to the new Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark? This indoor water park is only two hours away from New York City and offers great fun and entertainment for families. You also don’t have to have kids in order to enter or to enjoy the waterpark. Not only can you come here in the winter and be in your bathing suit, you can enjoy their outdoor trails as well.

The Kartrite Resort opened on April 19, 2019. The opening was short lived, thanks to Covid-19. The resort reopened its doors to the public on July 1st, 2021. Today, you can stay in the hotel, eat in their different restaurants, enjoy arcade games, play at the waterpark, and swim in their hot tub pool. If you want to just come and play arcade games, you can do that as well. You can also just come for the waterpark and enjoy half a day or a full day of water slides.

So far, we’ve come to the Kartrite Resort twice. The first time we went, it was January, with frigid temperatures outside. Inside, we were all in our beach attire. The second time was for July 4th weekend. Nihad’s cousin got the family and friends tickets so we can all enjoy some much needed fun. Both times were on the weekend, where you can expect a bigger crowd. It was hard to find a free table but after a few minutes we found one.

Weekdays at Kartrite

Unlike other waterpark resorts, Kartrite is smaller and less crowded. You don’t have to wait a long time on the line on a crowded Sunday. We were able to enjoy every single ride that was open, even the ones in the kids section. The lines for the pink ride, Krakken, and the carpet racing ride was shorter, so we would go on those more often. Please note that there are two lines for the racing ride and the orange slide. They both use the same stairs

On Monday, the place was less crowded and there were no lines for the rides. We were able to go on the Nor’easter waterslide a couple of times. If you’re too scared to go on this one, don’t be. After the initial drop, it’s a smooth and fun ride. I went on it a few times with a 12 year-old and then a couple of more times with Nihad and an eight year old girl. After a few water sliding adventures, we would jump on the lazy river called Empire Bay. It’s not a large lazy river but you can go on it a couple of times. The kids loved it and would walk it instead of using the water tubes. They also loved the indoor/outdoor Affinity Springs.

Exploring the Kartrite Indoor Water Park

Since Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark is small, you won’t have an issue losing your kids or finding your table. One complain I have about the resort is the price of food. If you don’t want to pay $12 for a burger, bring your own food and snacks. The only thing that’s not allowed is glass so don’t bring glass bottles, jars or containers.

Overall, Kartrite Resort and Indoor Water Park is a great place for some indoor water fun. You can enjoy the rides with or without kids or come here to be a big kid. Our family also got to enjoy the hotel rooms as well and the fireworks at the parking lot.

  2. I love waterparks, but it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been able to get to one – last time was in San Antonio where I got up so much speed, in a turn in a tube slide, I flew up the side and onto the top of the tube where I lost all momentum and fell flat on my face. I was wearing goggles because I had contacts and I hit so hard, both contacts popped out. When I got out of the pool, I looked down and my right big toe was pointing 90 degrees to the left.

We do have a Kalahari fairly close and do plan to go as soon as things fall into place – my niece has been asking to go and she can’t wait to see me get on the curviest, fastest tube slide in the park.
